The Tanglewood Park Golf Clubhouse replaces an outdated facility with a thoughtfully designed destination that enhances both daily play and community gathering. Addressing long-standing challenges with accessibility and inefficient layout, the new clubhouse provides a seamless and intuitive experience from arrival to the course, while offering improved access to the pro shop, restrooms, and amenities. A sweeping back deck establishes a direct visual connection to the Championship Course, reinforcing the clubhouse’s role as both a functional anchor and a social hub.

Clarity

The building’s design takes full advantage of the site’s natural slope, allowing operational and support spaces to be housed below grade while maximizing efficiency on the main level. This strategic approach enables the upper floor to flex between everyday golf functions and larger events, such as banquets and community gatherings, without disruption.

Creativity

Architecturally, the clubhouse draws inspiration from Tanglewood’s equestrian racing history and the nearby Manor House. Gabled roof forms, simple material palettes, and honest construction techniques reflect the site’s heritage while maintaining a timeless, approachable character. Inside, the design celebrates the legacy of the game, embracing the idea of “playing where the legends played” and creates an environment that honors tradition while supporting modern use.

Confidence

A key social anchor within the clubhouse is the 19th Hole bar and café, designed as an inviting place for players and visitors to relax, connect, and extend their time at the course. Positioned to capture views of the Championship Course and adjacent outdoor spaces, the bar creates a natural gathering point after a round of golf, during events, or simply as a casual stop for park patrons.

Elevating Recreation With Design

As part of a larger public park, the clubhouse was designed with community engagement at its core. Beyond golf, it functions as a gathering place for tournaments, celebrations, public events, and everyday connections, strengthening Tanglewood Park’s role as a regional destination. Through improved accessibility, flexible programming, and shared social spaces, the new clubhouse elevates the golfer experience while reinforcing the park’s identity as a welcoming civic asset with lasting community impact.
